Friday Night Waltz is a high energy dance that features mainly Waltzes in the dances and classes, along with other dances like Polka, One Step, Swing, Salsa, Cha Cha, Lindy, and Tango. People are friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Casual comfortable attire. Attendance is between 130 and 190. Average age is about 30 or so. People come from San Francisco, Berkeley, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, and Oakland. We usually have two simultaneous classes from 7 to 9, introductory and intermediate, followed by 3 hours of dancing starting at 9pm.

13th annual New Year's Eve Waltz Ball
We are moving to the elegant, historic Julia Morgan Berkeley City Club for our annual New Year's Eve Waltz Ball.
The Berkely City Blue is often called "The Little Castle" as Julia Morgan designed yje BCC like her other famous building, the Heast Castle.
Richard Powers will be teaching Rotary waltz from 7pm to 8:45 and djing Bohemian National Polka and a waltz mixer at the first break.
Tickets available through this website, online, at Friday Night Waltz, and via checks mid October. We will sell out, so get your tickets early!

Stanford Reunion weekend. All are welcome to the dance! FlashBack Friday!

To celebrate the Stanford Reunion Weekend and to welcome our Vintage Dance Ensemble reunion guests, most of the songs tonight will be flashbacks to Friday Night Waltz favorites from 10 or more years ago.

In honor of our "Flashback Friday" dance DJ'ed by Jason Anderson, we're going to go back. Wayyy back. All the way back to Cowboys and... Aliens! Come as you are or dress up to show whose side you are on. Mirage Marrou teaches Texas Two-Step and Essential Club Dances this Friday, October 24th.

7pm - Cowboys! Texas Two-Step - Jump off that mechanical bull and get to social dancing! The Texas Two-Step is a quicker, sassier version of the 1930's fox-trot. This class will cover the basic step and all the essential variations you need for your next trip to the Saddlerack or the Southwest! Mirage picked up some new variations this weekend in Tucson, AZ and is excited to share them.

8pm - Aliens! Club Dances to Out-of-this-World Music - Want to look out-of-this-world at the next party or wedding you're invited to? Then this class is a MUST. We will cover all the best club dances to cover ANY tempo you are faced with. Swing, Two-Step, Rumba and more; all danced to Alien and Space themed songs. You'll be prepared for anything the universe throws at you!

2014 Fall Ball
November 7 Stanford Fall Ball comes to Friday Night Waltz! a MUST GO DANCE!

The traditional location for the Stanford Fall Ball, Roble Hall, is being renovated. The Stanford Fall Ball this year is moving one time to Friday Night Waltz at the First United Methodist Church. With our excellent large hardwood floor, great parking, stage, sound system, and accessibility, we expect a large crowd, especially from the non Stanford crowd who don't normally attend. This dance should be a great night, with live band and many dance performances and dance competitions. Richard Powers is the MC for the Ball. The Royal Society Jazz Orchestra will be playing from 9 pm to midnight.

Past Fall Balls have attracted 250 to 350 people. should be a fun evening. NOT TO BE MISSED!

$15 Students with ID. $25 general. Tickets available online, by mailed checks, at Friday Night Waltz dances, and at the door, starting October 17.
