Black (Light) Friday: Nick and Melissa teach nightclub two step and four count swing.

It's Black (Light) Friday, as Nick and Melissa take you to the club with new figures in nightclub two step and four count swing.

7 pm - New Figures in Nightclub Two Step: If you want to dance to today’s pop music, nightclub two step is the best place to begin, as you can dance it to about a third of the Top 40 music charts. It’s also an amazingly flexible dance, with hundreds of variations adapted from other dance forms. In this class, we’ll show you some of our all-time favorite figures in nightclub two step, focusing on ones that are new to Friday Night Waltz. Everything in this class will be taught from the ground up, so you don't need any prior experience. Just come prepared to dance and have fun!

8 pm - New Figures in Four Count Swing: In the second hour, we’ll show you one of our favorite ways to dance to another third of the Top 40 charts: four count swing. While the footwork itself is trivially simple, this gives you the opportunity to do flashy and fun figures. In this class, we’ll introduce some new swing figures that have never been taught at Friday Night Waltz. And as a bonus, we’ll teach you Pretzel, one of the all-time classic flashy swing figures. Don't worry - this class will also be taught from the ground up, so no prior experience is necessary. Even if this is your first time swing dancing, we'll have you movin’ and groovin' in under an hour!
